North Smithfield Town Council

He currently serves on the Fire & Rescue Service Board of Directors as Vice Chair and is Chair of the Economic Development Commission, making recommendations to elected officials on business development and relations. He is active in a variety of non-profit boards, including HOPE Alzheimer's Center, RI Elder Info, Elves for Elders, and served for several years on the Blackstone River Valley Heritage Corridor Board of Directors.

Campaign Platform

Paul Jones is also running on what he calls a common sense, North Smithfield-focused Platform:

  • Road repair, aquifer/conservation protection, and affordability as top physical/economic priorities.

  • Senior Services: ensuring the space at Scouter’s Hall is maximized to provide seniors a space to come together for socialization, information, and support.

  • Halliwell: utilizing the $1,000,000 federal money we already have earmarked for Halliwell to transform the space into a community Park with walking trails, a dog park, and picnic spaces for families to enjoy.

  • Governmental efficiency: less spending on studies and focus groups, more grant-seeking, a fairer tax assessment process.

  • Transparency and civility: a public "Digital Town Hall" project dashboard, conflict-of-interest disclosure requirements, and more.
