Tenure and Service

Gabriella Stelle is a lifelong North Smithfield resident, proud mom of two children in the North Smithfield School District, business executive, and dedicated community volunteer. Gabriella has spent years investing in the North Smithfield community. She serves on the North Smithfield Elementary PTO, coaches youth sports, volunteers with local organizations, and has dedicated countless hours to supporting students, families, and educators. As a parent with children currently in the district, she brings a perspective rooted in firsthand experience and a genuine investment in the future of North Smithfield schools.

Campaign Platform

Candidates for School Board generally do not provide platforms like Town Council candidates. As a result, we have summarized three main points we drew out from Gabbie’s materials that we have found online.

  • Mandatory SRO (School Resource Officer): Wants the position made permanent/required at all three schools rather than optional, arguing it improves both safety and student trust (has pushed for this since her son's kindergarten year, when the elementary school only had a "floater" SRO).

  • Budget priorities-first approach: Wants the committee to identify what can't be cut (teachers, staff, support services) before discussing cuts, and to plan proactively for enrollment swings rather than reacting year to year — citing her budgeting experience as an EVP at EDI Staffing.

  • Boots-on-the-ground perspective + open communication: As an active PTO treasurer and parent in the schools daily, she wants to bring firsthand insight to the committee and keep the role non-political, with an emphasis on two-way conversation with parents, staff, and administration.
